- Design consultation: The first step is to have your free initial design consultations with one of our friendly Design Consultants. They will visit your home to help design the structure. These usually last up to two hours per consultation. However, this all depends on your specific requirements.
- Design & quote: The Design Consultant will then design your perfect deck area suited to your lifestyle and aesthetic. They will also use this time to select the right products for the job. Following this, it’s then time to finalise your designs and get your free quotation.
- Check measure: Once all the designs are complete, we go ahead with ordering materials, but our Building Supervisor will also visit the site to ensure all measurements and colours are correct.
- Council application: When you’re happy with the design and the Check measure is complete, we move on to the council application. We handle the entire council application process on your behalf. Getting council approval will ensure the relevant building surveyor can approve your plans and documentation for your new structure to the legal standard.
- Manufacture & deliver: After receiving council approval, we will manufacture your deck and deliver it to your home. Unless other instructions are given by our building supervisor, all the necessary materials will be left on the nature strip in front of your property.
- Installation: Finally, after the Construction Plan approval has been received, it will be time to schedule your installation with our builder in your area at their next availability.

Yes, you require planning approval for almost all building work that adds to your home. You will need to get approval if you build a deck in Toowoomba if it is bigger than 10m2 and over 2.4m above natural ground.
